24 workers killed, 37 injured in a severe road accident in Auraiya (U.P.), CM Yogi took cognizance

Auraiya: Some workers returning home amid lockdowns fell victim to an accident on Saturday morning in Auraiya. A truck collided with another truck in Auraiya district of Uttar Pradesh. 24 workers have died in this accident. The deceased were in this truck. After this incident, the injured have been rushed to the nearest hospital. They were all coming from Rajasthan and were going to Bihar-Jharkhand.

After getting information about the matter, the administrative staff has also become conscious. Immediately police team reached the spot and started rescue and relief operations. Oraiya CMO Archana Shrivastava said that 24 people died in this accident. 22 injured are undergoing treatment in the hospital and 15 seriously injured have been referred to Sephai PGI. These people were going from Rajasthan to Bihar and Jharkhand.

The condition of many injured is critical

It was told on their behalf that the incident took place between 3 am and 4 am. The rescue operation is currently underway. Some of the injured have been admitted to the district hospital while those who are in critical condition have been referred for Saifai. After this incident, DM Auraiya Abhishek Singh has said that most of these people were from Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal.

CM Yogi took cognizance of the incident

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognizance of the unfortunate incident that happened in Auraiya. He expressed condolences to the families of the workers who lost their lives in this accident. The Yogi government has announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh to the family of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the seriously injured.

Additional Chief Secretary Home Avnish Kumar Awasthi gave this information. Chief Minister Yogi has directed to provide all possible relief to the victims as well as to provide proper treatment to all the injured. He has instructed the Mandalayukt Kanpur and IG Kanpur to immediately reach the spot and carry out relief work under their supervision, check the cause of the accident and provide the information.

36 people injured in road accident

Additional SP Kamlesh Kumar Dixit of Auraiya district said, '24 people have died in this incident so far. The road accident occurred between 3 am and 4 am in the early hours of the morning. Of the injured, 15 people have been referred to Saifai while 22 people are undergoing treatment at the district hospital in Auraiya. All senior officers are present on the spot.
