Hardoi, U. P. These farmers, who wandered a few years ago to get a reasonable price for their produce, are today giving thousands of tenants a fair price for the crop.

All this is happening under the banner of the Farmer Producer Company, which was started three years ago by 10 farmers by raising just Rs 10,000. Today the business of this company has crossed 10 crores. Through this, the unemployed in the area are also getting work.

This story of 10 farmers of Kachhona development block of Hardoi, UP teaches the farmers to become self-reliant. Though such efforts have already come into force, their success is working to inspire in the present scenario.

Today, similar understanding and common efforts are required. In just three years, the special thing of this company, which reached the hail from the floor, is that from the owner to the employee, all are farmers. Manoj Kumar, the chairman of the company, Terra Dahigwan, says that initially board of five people was formed and five members were formed.

A fertilizer, seed and pesticide sales centre were started in October 2017 under the company's banner. The centre started running due to the availability of quality agricultural material at reasonable prices.

Presently, the company operates sales centres in Kachauna, Gausganj, Beniganj and Benhadad. Gradually the company started to market agricultural products. In this episode, the vegetables of Kachauna started being sent from different cities to Nepal. Here, vegetables are not being sent to Nepal from hereunder lockdown.

At the same time, since last year, the company is also operating the purchasing centre of wheat and maize on behalf of the government. Crops are procured at these centres at MSP. Many unemployed youths have got employment at the company's sales and purchase centres as per their merit.

Shareholders make farmers

The Farmer Producer Company makes the farmers of the area a shareholder. A tenant can buy a share of a maximum of Rs 500 in a coefficient of Rs 10. For three years, the company has made a rule to pay a dividend to the shareholder.

The shareholder farmers of the company are also given discounts on the purchase of material required for agricultural work at the sales centres. For this, the company has made a shareholders card. Women are also the board of directors in the company. It is headed by Manoj Kumar, while directors include Manvi Dwivedi of Mussulmanabad, Khushboo Dixit and Ranso's Lakshmi Kashyap.

Kankan Producer Company CEO Pankaj Maurya said that currently, 2350 farmers are shareholders of the company. We farmers who once strayed for the right price of produce, are now providing the right price of their products to other farmers of the region like ourselves.
